7QT: books, books, and books

Hey you! Linking up with Kelly today for 7QT!  I have had this same post sitting in my drafts forever and for some reason every time Friday rolls around I don't have access to my computer or the babies keep me extra busy.

The longer the draft sits the longer my list is getting so today it might be 9ish takes!  I have been reading up a storm lately...which has been absolutely wonderful.  When I get on a reading kick, I am so much happier and so much more relaxed than when I spend my evenings on social media or letting my brain work on over drive getting incredibly stressed out...which happened the other night! ....what on earth was I thinking when I planned a wedding in October (the middle of the school year) in a city no one in my family lives in including my fiancé and myself....

ANYWAYS!

My favorite books lately include everything by Elin Hilderbrand and Liane Moriarty (and JoJo Moyes of course).  I just realized this month that Liane Moriarty had almost three more books published than what I had originally thought.  I read them back to back immediately!  All of the books below...especially if you love chic lit...I highly recommend!

1. The Friends We Keep by Susan Mallery is such a feel good beach read!

2. The Hypnotist's Love Story by Liane Moriarty kept me on the edge of my seat!  I loved the suspense and the feel good aspects.

3. The Last Anniversary by Liane Moriarty was a favorite of mine because I absolutely love any and all books that portray an island or Nantucket-esque lifestyle.  It is a beach read that actually transports me to a vacation spot as I read.  Which is second best to an actual vacation, or at least laying out by the pool!

4. Three Wishes by Liane Moriarty (see, I really was on a Liane kick) swallowed me up immediately!  Her style of writing and the added suspense intertwined with love stories and stories of motherhood just completely enthraw me.  A friend of mine asked me with book she needed to read first by this author and I couldn't pick one.  Read them all!

5. The Sound of Glass by Karen White was so intense that it was hard for me to read.  I love a good, thrilling story but there are certain topics that are hard for me to stomach.  The Sound of Glass has a lot of domestic abuse and allusions to domestic abuse in the story which made me incredibly emotionally invested...but also made it incredibly hard to sleep.

6. Fates and Furies by Lauren Groff was an interesting read for my because I don't typically read books that can't be found in the Target best sellers section any more, but my new book club is keeping me in check with pushing me outside of my little reading box.  I didn't read the back of this book before starting it which definitely threw me off...but I do definitely recommend it for an enticing read!

7. Pretending to Dance by Diane Chamberlain was a loner from my mom this past weekend and it was exactly the kind of book I needed for my flight back to DC!  It was heart felt and alluded to a horrible ending (which made me nervous) and then made the happy ending so much more meaningful to me!  (no spoilers...I promise)!

And as one last edition to my 7 takes....if you are missing Christmas and love her other books, I highly recommend Elin Hilderbrand's Winter Street and the sequel Winter Stroll...I can't wait for the third book in the series to come out!

Happy Reading!

Megan
